Orange Looks to an Even Brighter Future in Uganda
Orange is the first telecommunications operator to run a 3G+ network in Uganda and has since remained dominant in the mobile Internet market in the country.
CARLSBAD, CA, November 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Orange is the first telecommunications operator to run a 3G+ network in Uganda and has since remained dominant in the mobile Internet market in the country.
"We were the innovators and revolutionized the Internet in Uganda," says Chief of Strategy, Edouard Blondeau.
"Today, if you asked people on the street here about Orange Uganda they would know us as the leading Internet operator because we have over 50 percent market share in mobile broadband. We are also growing in regards of voice and SMS services, although our market share is still small at around 7 to 10 percent," he adds.
The quality of Orange Uganda's Internet service and fast connection speeds has convinced a number of corporate clients to join, both on voice and data services, the company states. "Our very good reputation is helping us a lot to sign up corporate contracts," Blondeau adds.
The quality of calls internationally and nationally has also been recognised, with the regulator in the country awarding it with the best quality of service by regulator in Uganda in 2011. Blondeau says that this mixed with competitive prices makes the perfect solution for all customers.
